Paul Lefrere

is Senior Research Fellow at the Open University of the United Kingdom (Knowledge Media Institute) and visiting Professor of eLearning at the University of Tampere, Finland (Vocational Learning and e-skills Centre). In addition to his research on TEL, he leads commercial teams that advise internationally on new, prospective and evolving knowledge needs, tools, services and jobs. In that connection, he consults with the TEL part of a global advisory group with clients across the world. His recent and current clients include universities, ministries, agencies, foundations and corporations. His projects for them involve technology futures and technology-enhanced learning futures (e.g., for business innovation, new models of publishing, creation of services and jobs for the knowledge economy, national capacity development, on-the-job up-skilling). Before that, he was Microsoft's Executive Director for eLearning and Senior Lecturer at the Open University's Institute of Educational Technology.
