• Introduction to the experiential framework and to the design based learning

This general introduction will offer you an overview on the current work dedicated to the definition of an operative model of the experience and, thus, to the definition of a personal experience style set, to the identification of the relevant characteristic of a place/context, and to the identification of flexible processes. All elements that compose a framework, that can be used as a reference for the exploration of innovative path in education.

Track one:
Bridging and integrating virtual and physical environments into learning place of the future

This track will introduce you to the on-going forefront research on redesign of the virtual environments and redefinition of the physical place. Moreover, it will stimulate you to reflect: a) on the design of the integrated innovative mixed environments and applications; and, b) on how to take advantage of the new interaction possibilities to foster more natural and meaningful mediated learning experiences.

Track two:
Personalization and contextualization of the learning experience

The track will introduce you to personalization and adaptivity with focus on education and provide you with generalities and concepts, through techniques, design, authoring, delivery and evaluation – all in connection with the respective learning theories and with intense discussions and hands-on activities.
Moreover you will be led to explore topics related to the strategies and applications of context-aware learning and it will identify and discuss major research challenges and open research questions in the field.

Track three:
• Monitoring, visualization and assessment of the learning experience

This track will introduce you to a very open domain of research and to a set of possible strategies illustrated with examples taken from real case studies accumulated in past few years. You will be also stimulated to imagine new methods to monitor skills, motivation, tensional level and quality of the experience in a non-intrusive manner with the aim to provide individuals with tools and know-how to self-evaluate their behavior and the progresses of the process.
