Relevant Topics


We are open to submissions of papers on the following topics from a Smart City and Learning perspective. Other topics of close relevance would also be considered.


• Ubiquitous, informal and just in time learning in the Smart Cities and Regions

• Multilevel continuity-discontinuity of learning

• Support for learning appropriate behaviors, skills and competencies (smart citizens and workers)

• The role of local cultures and contexts in smart city and smart region learning

• Innovative approaches to teaching smart city topics in schools

• Schools as smart learning ecosystems

• Smart learning ecosystems, social innovation and regions development 

• Smart city and smart region tourism and cultural learning

• Design and redesign of Smart Learning Places for a Smart City learning 

• Facilitating the use and adaptation of public spaces

• The role of sensor networks in smart cities learning

• Open educational resources and data in Smart City Learning

• Information visualisation to support smart city learning

• Smartness monitoring and benchmarking of learning ecosystems in Smart City and Regions

• Safety and security of learning ecosystems

• Privacy and trust networks for Smart City Learning

 

 

Format and submission

 

The participants will be selected on the basis of a submitted position paper of maximum 6 pages (LNCS style). All submissions will be reviewed by a scientific committee and by the workshop organizers. The selection will be done to ensure scientific quality together with the presence of different perspectives and to foster discussion.

Selection of participants


To promote discussion we intend to limit the number of accepted contributions to 12 (max 15) and participation to no more than 20-25 people (the authors plus a small number of listeners strongly motivated to contribute to the discussion).

 


After proceedings

 

After the workshop, participants will be invited to prepare a revised and extended paper to be included as part of a special issue of Interaction Design and Architecture(s) (IxD&A), a Gold Open Access Journal; a slot has been reserved for the second half of 2016.
