How to get here

By car

Bologna is well connected to the largest Italian cities. The A1 motorway (“Autostrada del Sole”) links Bologna with Milan, Florence and Rome.

The A13 motorway links Bologna with Ferrara, Padua and Venice, while the A14 connects it with Rimini and Ravenna.

By train

Well known as one of the largest Italian rail interconnections, the Bologna station connects Northern Italy with the centre and south of the country. Bologna is connected with high-speed trains to Milan (65 min), Florence (37 min), Rome (2 hrs), Naples (3 hrs and 45 min), Turin (2 hrs).

Bologna Central Train Station is only 5 minutes far from BolognaFiere by taxi and its entrance in Piazza Costituzione. You can reach them with the bus number 35, 38.

For train times go to website www.trenitalia.it o www.italotreno.it

By air

Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi airport is 6 km from the city and is served both by international flagship airlines and by low-cost European air companies such as Ryanair.
The connecting service to and from Bologna airport is provided by the Aerobus which connects the airport with Bologna rail station, running every 15 minutes from 5.30 in the morning until 23.00 at night.

How to get around in the centre of Bologna using public transport

Bologna does not have an underground railway but does have a tram system run by ATC (www.atc.bo.it). The lines connecting the station with the exhibition centre are 35 and 38.

The Bologna city centre has restricted traffic, so cars and motorcycles cannot drive around freely. The best way to visit the city is therefore to use taxi or public transport. For further information, go to the section on From the center of Bologna.
