Education

Since 1992 the members of the ISIM_garage have been promoting the development of educational activities and environments dedicated to the communication mediated by the machine whose hallmark has always been, and still is, the high level of interdisciplinarity. Such attitude to the hybridization, over time has become increasingly structured up to become a true holistic approach - person in the place centered - to the design of services, systems and complex processes, such as those that populate the organic era of the interaction.

In 1996, was designed and built the first Italian master in 'New media and communication'. In 1998 opened within the Faculty of Science the first bachelor degree for 'Media Science and Communication' (since 2008 renamed as Media Science and Technology). In 2001 was designed a Honored Master in Advanced Technologies for Interactive Communication (activated later in 2005). In 2005 opened at Iad School the Honored Master in 'e-Learning methods, techniques and applications', focused to the redesign and transformation of the existing 'learning space' into 'learning place' to carry on advanced Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) centered on the person as main actor of a meaningful experience. In 2010 opened the Master degree in Theory and design of new media, whose main foci are interaction design and design for the experience.

The ISIM_garage over the years has established links with many research centers in Europe and beyond, as well as Erasmus agreements, and is now an ideal place for conducting thesis and advanced research work on borderline subjects.
